Canada Day is the national day of Canada. July 1 marks the day the colonies of the Province of CanadaNova Scotia and New Brunswick became a single dominion within the British Empire called Canada.

On the eve of Canada Day 2020 and Canada’s 153rd birthday, I came across this awesome list of the reasons why people LOVE Canada and I thought I would share it.

I love Canada…

…because it is a welcoming country.

  • It’s an inclusive country.
  • It’s a country that believes in the rights and well-being of all of its inhabitants.
  • I’m accepted no matter how I am.
  • Our tolerance and acceptance towards everyone (religions/nationalities/sexual orientations).
  • People from Poland and many other have been welcomed in Canada.
  • It’s a welcoming country where people from everywhere come to realize their dream to live in peace and in security.
  • I was welcomed when I emigrated in 1969 and I have always lived well.
  • For its acceptance with refugees.

…for our rights, privileges and opportunities.

  • Canadian currency is beautiful and secure.
  • We get to vote for our prime minister.
  • Justin Trudeau
  • I can live anywhere in Canada and still bank in Winnipeg.
  • Canada has 150 years of democracy.
  • We have provinces and territories.
  • We have had a female prime minister.
  • I feel beyond lucky to live in Canada.
  • I am forever thankful that when my twins were born with health complications finances were never a concern when getting them the medical treatments they needed.
  • We have a good school system.
  • I have rights as a woman.
  • We have drinkable water.
  • I have services in my village.
  • The medical care system, even though flawed is still the best in the world.
  • 12 months of maternity/paternity leave.
  • Our healthcare is free.
  • We are the land of the brave, free, and opportunity for all.
  • It is a country with plenty of opportunity.
  • It offers so many opportunities to so many people.

…because Canadians are great.

  • Because everyone wants to be Canadian.
  • Canada has never invaded any other country.
  • Canadians are some of the friendliest people on earth.
  • We don’t turn our back on other people.
  • We respect and welcome all peoples.
  • I am thankful to live in a country that took care of my fiancé after he served overseas.
  • It is a place of love and prosperity.
  • It’s made up of diverse, kind, loving, and sharing peoples helping each other to get ahead in life.
  • I am proud and grateful.
  • Canadians have great cultural pride! Eh!
  • The Canadian spirit and pride you can witness from coast to coast.

  • A lot of great histories to learn about. Canadian Museum of Human Rights is an amazing place for that!! ?

  • I have the opportunity to live in both our official languages – French and English.

…for its beautiful scenery.

  • The vast forests and the green landscapes.
  • Mountains in the West, the Rockies.
  • The prairie farmland in Central Canada.
  • The fisheries on the Eastern shores.
  • The landscape is like nowhere else.
  • Niagara Falls is beautiful.
  • Northern Lights.
  • Beautiful sunsets/sunrises.
  • The prairie blue skies.
  • It’s a magic country with splendid landscapes.
  • Each province has beautiful landscapes, all different from one another.
  • It’s beautiful, with a diverse topography and an astonished beauty.
  • Our beautiful parks, lakes and oceans.
  • We get to experience 4 different seasons.
  • We have four great distinct seasons.
  • The beauty of the four seasons is a blessing which instills a fortitude to withstand all types of weather
  • Our winters to snowmobile.
  • The four seasons of our country are spectacular.
  • The snow in the winter and the great sun in the summer.
  • The various colours from each season.
  • We have the most beautiful seasons in the world.
  • We have some of the best sceneries in the world as well as wildlife.
  • For its beautiful parks, lakes, oceans and wildlife that always bring me peace when life is stressful.
  • So many animals live here.
  • There are so many wide open spaces with spectacular natural scenery.
  • Vast beautiful terrain, resources and variety of people.
  • Its environment is natural and clean.

…for its good tastes and good fun.

  • We created the best meal: the poutine.
  • Bacon.
  • Our tasty maple syrup.
  • Our chips Old Dutch.
  • Our chocolate Smarties.
  • The delicious beaver tails.
  • Amazing festivals such as Le Festival du Voyageur.
  • There are festivals embracing the local community.
  • Folklorama Winnipeg.
  • We have many small festivals that give us the opportunity to travel and explore the different regions of this beautiful country.

…for our peace and freedom.

  • Our freedom and peace.
  • We are free to live our lives how we wish without fear.
  • We are protected, free and proud.
  • We are a welcoming land for people who are looking for a safe haven with peace.
  • I sleep in peace.
  • We are not allowed to walk around with guns.
  • We do not have to lock our doors.
  • It’s a country where everyone feel safe.
  • No war, we are at peace, everyone respects one another.
  • Freedom of speech.
  • We are free and allowed to believe in our own religions.
  • Canada is a country where people are free to be themselves.
  • We are so blessed to be able to live in a country with so many freedoms, peace and order.
  • It is a land of equal opportunity and freedom.

…for its sports and activities.

  • One of our national sports is hockey.
  • Our curling team is awesome.
  • We have beautiful ski resorts.
  • We have beautiful golf courses.
  • I can go camping a lot.
  • Camping in the summer.
  • I can go skiing and snowboarding.
  • There’s no limit to the activities you can start.
  • Wayne Gretzky is Canadian.
  • We compete in the NHL (National Hockey League).
  • We have a team in the MLB (Major League Baseball).
  • We have the Jets hockey team
  • We play to have fun and win.

…for all the places to see.

  • We have great tourist places; like The Forks and great little shops to shop at.
  • It is a beautiful country to see and explore.
  • I like to visit Canada. It’s a nice place.
  • You can feel like you are in a foreign country without leaving it.
  • There are so many national parks to explore.

…because it’s the best country in the world.

  • It’s an incredible country.
  • It’s a great Country to live in.
  • Canada provides fresh air to breathe.
  • It’s clean.
  • We are the second largest country.
  • We are a country in a league of our own.
  • Canada is the best country in the world – no exceptions!
  • Canada offers everything I need plus its natural beauty.

  • Canada always tends to improve itself.
